Parks & Recreation

The Parks & Recreation will not take part in the Town Hall summer hours. We will maintain our normal hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

It is the mission of the Walworth Parks and Recreation Department to provide diverse year-round leisure activities and facilities to our community that promote citizen involvement and a strong sense of community while striving to increase the social, cultural, and physical well-being of our residents. It is our goal to constantly improve our existing programs and parks for the enjoyment of our citizens.
Please be aware that due to repeated acts of vandalism the gates at Sherburne Road Town Park will now be locked at dusk and opened when park staff begins work in the morning. The trails open at dawn even if the gates are still locked – you may park along Lorraine Drive to access them. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What’s New?

Despite the deep freeze we seem to be stuck in, Spring will indeed be here before you know it!  This Spring we’re excited to present a wide variety of ways to get out, get fit, be active, and enjoy all the Walworth community has to offer!

As the snow lingers for those looking for a wonderful outside activity we have snowshoes available for rental here at the Recreation Offices.  Please give us a call or stop by to rent a pair for yourself – or better yet the whole family!

With February and April Break fast approaching you may be wondering just what to do with the kids during the weeks off.  Keep them active with our Winter & Spring Break Camps and activities. Spend the week or sign up individually for your favorite activities.

We are excited to continue to partner with the Gananda Central School District to offer half day programs for those interested in  spending their half days having fun with friends and Walworth Recreation!  This Spring we will be heading to the brand new, all-trampoline, all-action center Sky Zone!  Look for permission slips coming home as  the March 21st half day approaches.

Baseball and softball seasons are just around the corner!  We are always in need of coaches, assistant coaches, and umpires.  Please contact the Recreation Department or indicate on your registration if you are interested in lending a hand.

Reservations for the Ginegaw Park Lodge continue to fly off the books.  Remaining weekend dates for 2014 are slim – if you’re interested in reserving the lodge for an event later in the year please don’t wait to give us a call.  Dates are booking FAST!

We look forward to some warmer weather and are anxiously awaiting to unveil some of the surprises we have in store for later in the year!  Get out and be active this Spring!
